The Unforgettable Red Head

Seasons Greetings

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on February 11, 2011

So, like I’ve mentioned in posts previous, I have been a little bit busy with a new hobby. One day I’ll have pictures of that. One day way far away. Sorry it’s been so long since I posted. I know a few of you check this regularly, and I’m sorry for my absence. I decided to go through my old albums, and find my favorite photos that remind me of the seasons of the year. So here are some of my favorite seasoned photos.

Spring!

Summer!!

Fall!!

Winter!

The photos above and below were not touched in any way. They were taken on black and white film on a traditional film camera in Downtown Denver.

I’m not going to tell you where this place is, because it’s a new secret, and I love it there. Took some photos (modeling) and I took some photos (with my point and shoot) and it was good times. Here are some of the modeling photos. I’m sure I’ll post my photos when I’m not half asleep. Please click on the photos you want to see. Compression Kills. :D

…who looks like he spends more than two hours working on his hair.  ~Steve Martin

I was wandering around my computer with a hot mission to find some interesting photos. Not that there aren’t plenty on this beautiful mac o mine, but I thought I needed to introduce a little something different.  Anyone that knows me knows I’m very attached to my hair (literally and figuratively- unless I brush with this one brush that tears my hair out…). Anyway! I haven’t always had long hair. In fact, for the first 23 years of my life, my hair only managed to squeak past my shoulders for a short time in 6th grade when I was in a play that required pigtails. That being said, I DARE you to make a Pippi Longstocking joke. (Except you. You know who you are). Anyway, since I have taken the time to grow my hair out to it’s current length, I will share with you some of my favorite hair moments.

This was one of the first hair pics I ever took with my “long” hair. It was actually at that point only about an inch past my shoulders.

This was taken on the beach while I was attempting a run. Needless to say, my shutterbug got the best of me and I ended up running around taking pictures. :)

A study of Cats.

Sorry for the recent lack of posts. It isn’t that I haven’t wanted to, but I’ve been a little preoccupied with a new hobby. I was looking through my photos today to try and kinda clean things up, and I noticed that my cats are probably my favorite subjects. They are always in a different pose, and never cease to make me smile. That’s not to say Wedgie and Bea aren’t my favorites- they definitely are- but in a different way. This is my grandparents late cat Sweetie (she was anything but) however my grandparents loved her with all their hearts. And she was a beautiful cat.

This is my dad’s cat, Minky. She’s a corker. I think she just turned 81 years old this month, and is still as beautiful as she was the day we got her. She loves to escape.

This is my mom’s cat Marjore June. We call her Margie for short. She is the devil incarnate.

This is my cat, Gus. She is my favorite. I love her to death, except when she can’t remember where the catbox is. Which is more often than I’d like.

5th of July Fun!

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on July 5, 2010

Sparklers are legal here in Denver, and we enjoy playing with them. While a lot of our neighbors are using much larger shooting-in-the-air fireworks, we chose to stick with small stuff for the kids. Here are some photos of the results. I need to thank my big brother Kris for the designs of the following photos. I’d say he did a pretty decent job.

This was one of our big ones. It spun around and danced a bit. Fun to photograph.

These last two are just me messing around with a pen light. I couldn’t think of anything fun to draw, so I did a flower and my name. Same concept, just with something less fun than a sparkler.

Rainy Day

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on July 4, 2010

Our fourth of july plans were pretty much rained out, as anyone in the metro Denver area will tell you. I tried to get some fireworks pictures, but there just aren’t that many, and it’s pretty clouded and foggy from all the rain, so the pics aren’t that great. So, just so you don’t think I’m neglectful, here are 3 photos I took from my porch last year, at this same time. Happy independence day!

They look like little solar systems.

The lines that are showing through the picture are the power lines that line the road I live on. Kindof annoying.

2008- Charleston SC

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on June 30, 2010

As most of you know, I spent a few years in the lovely area of Charleston, SC. I really did love it there, even if I was surrounded by a whole lotta rednecks and Gamecocks Fans. But, it did afford me with a lot of fun, some bummer times, and a whole lot of opportunity for photographs. Here is a small selection from 2008 around Charleston.

Days when this flag flew sucked. No power and a hot ass rainstorm. Ugh. Mom drove me down IOP connector to get this photo. We were going about 50. But I snapped it. Oh yeah.

I took this photo out of my window on my way home from the beach. I was driving, yes, and the car was going the other way. I do this a lot. You’ve heard of driving and texting? I do drive by “shootings”.

I’m pretty sure these were taken on Thanksgiving Day, 2008, or the day after Thanksgiving day. I loved this day. We were in a canoe, and saw all kinds of beautiful.

I have to give my mom credit for this one. I didn’t see the little berry there, but she did. She talked me into taking a picture, and it actually came out kinda good.

Again with the drive by shooting. This is on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Oh and it’s in my side view mirror coming home from the bank in rush hour traffic. Win.

Bea saw the camera and wanted to know what the hell was going on. She ain’t give no paparazzi permission to take her photo!!

I believe these are the thunderbirds. I loved watching them. I had an interesting day with my dad at the air show, but it was fun.

This is interesting. I worked in this neighborhood for a while, it was a gated community. If you look at the left center of the photo, you see a long strip of land. This is actually a runway. There are two planes in the neighborhood (blue and pink) that used to take off sometimes off this little runway. I was surprised that they were allowed to do this with no tower or anything, and the strip of land is not paved. Just a long strip of grass.

There are poot holes.

2007 Revisited

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on June 20, 2010

So, I decided to take some pictures from my 2007 folder and give them a tweak. A lot of my pictures from that year were of a spineless jerk, but I managed to find some good ones. Here you go:

This is my cat Gus. You'll see a lot more of her.

I actually attached a pen light to my fan on my ceiling and did a 15 second exposure to get this photo. I like it because it looks like the rings of saturn. :D

RAW lightning

Posted in Uncategorized by Scarlet on June 5, 2010

I took these tonight, and am uploading them as I wait for my camera battery to recharge a little. When it does, I’m going to take more. These have not been edited in any way. These are the raw photos. I feel like they are too impressive to edit them in any way.
